Former French football player, Zidane, stepped down as coach of Real Madrid two weeks ago, after winning his third consecutive Champions League title.

Real Madrid will delay making a decision about Gareth Bale's future at the club until after they have appointed a new manager, according to reports in the British media.

United star, De Gea has been vocal on his future in recent weeks, with the Spain worldwide revealing he's fully focused on the World Cup in Russian Federation.

Zidane won the Champions League at Real for the past three seasons, but Balague insists fans will be happy with Lopetegui's arrival, having gone 20 games unbeaten with Spain. Zidane, who scored twice in the 3-0 final victory over Brazil in 1998, was talking on the eve of a gala match pitching the World Cup-winning French team, minus then-captain Didier Deschamps who is now in Russian Federation with the France team, against an global XI to mark the 20th anniversary of France's win.

Julen Lopetegui has been named as Real Madrid's new manager.

Spain are the only team in Russian Federation who have remained undefeated from Euro 2016 to the World Cup.

"I didn't stop to want to take the team of France".

Lopetegui will put to pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Bernabéu running until 2021, the club confirmed. After leading Spain to European Championship crowns at Under-19 and U-21 level, Lopetegui took Porto to the Champions League quarter-finals in 2014-15, but did not win the league in Portugal and was sacked the following season.

Lopetegui is a surprise appointment as he was not one of the names widely touted to be Zidane's replacement. They also play Morocco and Iran in the group stages.
