Griezmann to decide future before World Cup

Griezmann, 27, continues to be linked with a move to LaLiga champions Barcelona after another fine season at Atletico.

Ronaldo cast doubt over his future at Madrid after their third consecutive Champions League success last month.

Antoine Griezmann has announced he has made a decision on whether he will stay or leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

But Tebas expects both players to remain at their respective clubs heading into next season. "I think we will find out this week". "We are becoming more independent of great players".

Griezmann is preparing for France's first World Cup game against Australia on Saturday and insisted it was not the time to draw attention away from the worldwide squad.

Atletico were hit by a transfer ban and in a show of loyalty, Griezmann pledged himself for another year to the Madrid outfit.

Barca's public pursuit of Griezmann has angered Atletico, who reported them to Federation Internationale de Football Association in December for making an illegal approach for the player and followed up with a statement in May telling Barca "enough is enough".

There's still a week to go [before the World Cup].

There appears to be no logical reason behind Griezmann delaying the announcement of a new deal, if he is to stay at Atletico, and it would now be more surprising if the forward doesn't switch clubs this summer.

Two years back, Griezmann was the top scorer of Euro 2016 as France lost out to Portugal on home soil and he's unsurprisingly one of the favourites to win the Golden Boot this time around, where Didier Deschamps' side are serious contenders.
