Shelly Finkel, one of Wilder's co-managers, told ESPN that World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Wilder had accepted an offer by Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn for a fight in autumn.

After the recent turn of events, heavyweight champions Deontay Wilder (40-0, 30 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) could very well collide in a high profile unification showdown.

"If they keep their word, then we've got a fight", Deas said.

Joshua is a massive star in the United Kingdom, where he has drawn sellout crowds for his past three fights: 90,000 at Wembley Stadium in London and 78,000 for his past two fights at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

"The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the U.S. is still available", Wilder said. "Deontay wants this fight".

According to Pugmire, Wilder's and Joshua's respective teams were quibbling over the location of the fight, with Wilder's camp wanting it in the USA and Joshua's side preferring the UK. "It's up to them to choose". "All they have to do is tell us where to be and when to be there, and we'll be there".

Another possible outlet is the Perform Group's DAZN sports streaming service, which is due to launch in the US later this summer, with Hearn's recently agreed to eight-year, $1 billion deal to provide boxing content due to begin in September.

Assuming the details are finalized and the fight announced, Joshua vs.

Should Joshua, 28, fight the American next, the victor would become the first heavyweight to hold all four recognised world titles at once.

He said on Instagram: 'Dear Anthony Joshua fans, since your acting dumb, delusional or just plain Stupid here you go, breaking news.

Earlier this month, Finkel met with Matchroom founder Barry Hearn in NY in an attempt to salvage the fight as WBA mandatory challenger Povetkin looked an increasingly likely prospect.

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook posted odds on the potential fight back in early April.

Surely Joshua will agree and send the contract to Wilder.
