Liverpool have begun talks with representatives of Stoke star Xherdan Shaqiri.
The 26-year-old is now on global duty with Switzerland ahead of the World Cup and he's apparently eager to find a new club before the tournament starts.
The World Cup winger arrived at Stoke in the summer of 2015 intent on reviving his career in the hope of eventually earning a move to a Champions League club, so it is ironic his dream could be about to come true as a result of Stoke's relegation.
"My agents take care of my future".
Although the player did confirm last week that he is looking to leave Stoke this summer.
However, the 26-year-old emerged as a Liverpool target last week and it looks like the Reds have now stolen a march on Spurs as the Mirror are citing a report from the Stoke Sentinel that claims Jurgen Klopp's men opened talks with Shaqiri's agent last Friday.
"I can't tell you anything".
"I'm particularly pleased that he took the time to look beyond our current league status and understand who we are as a club, before choosing us ahead of current Premier League and Bundesliga clubs".
"I am focusing on the national team right now". "It's the best league with the best players, but I do not want to exclude anything".
Klopp was heavily criticised in recent months for rotating his squad, but bringing in the likes of Shaqiri would give him more licence to rest Liverpool's much vaunted "fab three" of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool have already signed Fabinho from Monaco this summer and are closing in on a £52million deal for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir.
