Bethesda has done a great job of bringing back some of their most iconic franchises over the last few years. Titled Doom Eternal, it follows in the footsteps of the original Doom II by taking the legions of hellspawn to Earth for the next fight. It's done it with Doom, it's done it with Wolfenstein, and it did it so successfully with Fallout 3 that the world has practically forgotten about the first two games produced by Interplay.
Straight from this year's Bethesda E3 Showcase comes official confirmation of DOOM Eternal, the direct sequel to the award-winning and best-selling DOOM (2016). The trailer's backdrop was that of a desecrated metropolitan city overcome by necrotic tentacles and debris.
As the DOOM Slayer, return to take your vengeance against the forces of Hell. Hell on Earth was, of course, promised as well. They stopped short of revealing many specifics, but promised that Doom Eternal will feature new weapons and abilities for players to utilize against the demonic hordes. We'll update with more info - including which systems it'll be on - once we have it.
