Experience an explosive game of cat and mouse set in a vast open world. Using Avalanche's own Apex Open World Engine, even at this early stage, Generation Zero is sporting nice visuals.

Generation Zero finds survivors trying to survive while deadly machines hunt them down across a large open-world.

Coming to PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC in 2019, Generation Zero is set in Sweden, where Avalanche Studios are based. "In this reimagining of 1980s Sweden, hostile machines have invaded the serene countryside, and you need to fight back!"

1-4 Player Seamless Multiplayer. This game is set to be a four-player co-op FPS and the announcement trailer showcases how players can lure, cripple and destroy enemies in various sandbox skirmishes. It also seems that Avalanche themselves are going it alone, with simply the developer and their in house game engine mentioned without an associated publisher.

The open-world environment will feature a full day / night cycle complete with unpredictable weather, simulated ballistics, realistic acoustics, complex AI behavior and a dynamic retro soundtrack. You will be able to play the game either solo or with up to three friends in Co-Op.

The Generation Zero world has days and nights and the robots are "persistently simulated", meaning the enemy is constantly roaming around looking to take you out. Players can collaborate and combine their unique skills to take down enemies, support downed friends by reviving them, and share the loot after an enemy is defeated. When you manage to destroy a specific enemy component, be it armor, weapons or sensory equipment, the damage is permanent.
