The Oscar-winning (and eight-time nominated) actor joins what is shaping up to be one of Tarantino's most impressive ensembles yet.

Variety has announced that Al Pacino will join the cast of Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Charles Manson movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fanning will play the role of Squeaky Fromme, Lewis will portray Steve McQueen and Perry will play Scott Lancer in the movie set in Los Angeles in 1969.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood takes place during the height of hippy Hollywood and center around Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt).

Pacino will play the role of Marvin Schwarz, Rick's agent. The unlucky pair are "struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don't recognize anymore", but soon find themselves faced with what could be a huge opportunity when Rick discovers his neighbor is famous actress Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie. Who else can't wait to see him and DiCaprio tear it up alongside co-star Brad Pitt?

Pacino most recently starred in HBO's film Paterno, and he just wrapped Martin Scorsese's long-gestating crime drama The Irishman. Luke Perry, Nicholas Hammond, Clifton Collins Jr., Keith Jefferson, Burt Reynolds, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen also star.

It's previously been confirmed that Tarantino has asked Ennio Morricone to compose music for the film, which is also very good news.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set for release on August 9th, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the murder of Sharon Tate.
