Carlson, whose sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes led to his departure, said the board had heard from potential contestants who lamented, "We don't want to be out there in high heels and swimsuits". Miss America announced this morning that they will immediately eliminate the swimsuit portion of the contest and replace it with a segment where the women discuss their plans, goals and dreams. "That's huge! And that means that we will no longer have a swimsuit competition".
But conservative middle-aged men are the most easily trolled people on the internet, and so most responses were making fun of them while praising Miss America 2.0.
Carlson also toldGMA that the competition would be more inclusive of "women who may not have felt comfortable participating in our program before" due to the bikini event portion, another radical step for the organization.

"We are no longer a pageant", said Gretchen Carlson, the chair of the Board of Trustees for the Miss America Organization. Some Miss America executives, including the CEO, resigned after coming under scrutiny during the #MeToo era for sexist emails about contestants, forcing the organization to take a hard look at its leadership.
