Guillem Balague has backed newly appointed Arsenal boss Unai Emery to be a success at the Emirates, but has warned that prosperity is dependant on the club's ability to make the right signings this summer.

The Welsh midfielder, who was crowned the Gunners' 2017/18 player of the year, has just 12 months left on his contract and has been linked with a summer move away from the club.

But speaking from America where Ramsey is on global duty with Wales, the 27-year-old dropped a massive hint he wants to stay at Arsenal after the change in management.

Speaking after Wales' 0-0 draw against Mexico on Tuesday, Ramsey gave his backing to the former Paris St Germain manager.

'Of course, ' Ramsey responded when asked he was excited to work with Emery.

"I haven't spoken to him [Emery] at all yet, but I think it's an exciting time for the club and I can't wait to get back there now", said the 27-year-old.

Emery, who was this month announced Arsene Wenger's successor in north London, has seemingly been quick to pounce on the full-back, who is expected to skipper hi national team in next month's FIFA World Cup finals in Russian Federation. "What's impressive to me is when you scratch through that and you get deeply involved in what exactly they mean".

Ramsey is the current longest-serving playing in the Arsenal squad after signing from Cardiff City back in 2010.

"It's a bit sore, but hopefully there will be no lasting damage and it will settle down over the next few days".

"It was always going to be hard coming here against a good Mexico team, but we did well".
