This said, sharing a story on Instagram has never been so easy - so Facebook has had to learn how to keep up with the feature in order to stay in the game.

To deal with the low percentage of users sharing Facebook Stories, the social media giant is introducing new functionalities to the tool that are now being launched in India and will be shared later at a global scale. "At this point, you'll be able to save as many photos and videos as you can using the Facebook Camera with this feature". Only photos and videos taken with the Facebook Camera can be saved on the Facebook cloud.

After completing the creativity with Voice Posts, you can share them on Facebook Stories or as a post on News Feed. Hayes revealed that where Audio Stories is concerned, Facebook has got its learnings from WhatsApp, which has an Audio Messages feature that is quite popular in India. This new feature is somewhat similar to Instagram Stories archive, which was made available a year ago, as pointed out by MacRumors. "We have no news to announce at this time", the company said. From Facebook Lite to Messenger Lite, Facebook's focus has been on optimising its platform for the masses which have low-end phones with slower networks and lesser storage.

The firm will now let you share voice posts as well, so you don't necessarily have to type in your stories, but can share voice messages as well.

All three new features will be available in India first before being made available to everyone else in the world in the near future.

Archiving and saving posts for later should also allow more people to be in the moment, instead of focusing on editing or uploading photos. The length of the voice posts will be limited to 20 seconds and just like regular story posts, they will disappear after 24 hours. The most important as far as I am concerned is the return of "voice posts". He adds that "Voice posts give people a new medium through which to express themselves".

The next new feature is that images captured using the Facebook camera can now automatically be uploaded to the Facebook cloud.

Stories is a feature that lets people create sort of montage of their photos and videos that stay on top of news feed on top of the Facebook app for 24 hours. "You can still find it in your Stories Archive if you have Archive turned on", explains Hayes. Facebook will give users the option of also turning off the archive so that the Stories are not saved. You can go back and view these Stories at any time, or choose to reshare them as a post or story.
