After much to-ing and fro-ing, Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle Sr, has confirmed that he will not attend her wedding on May 19.

Earlier Samantha Markle, the actress's half-sister, told the Good Morning Britain TV programme she hoped he would still be there but it depended on his health.

Guests will arrive at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle between 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Meghan Markle's father will not walk his daughter down the aisle because he is due to have a heart operation, it has been reported.

On Sunday, it was reported that the bride-to-be's father Thomas Markle Sr (73), a retired lighting director living in a retirement community in Mexico, had agreed to take party in staged photographs with an American photographer.

Making a royal wedding cake is a big undertaking and the chef behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's culinary centrepiece has given an insight into her preparations.

"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding", Kensington Palace, Harry's office, said in a statement. He also said he had been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack a week ago.

Meghan is said to be distraught at the news, but Thomas fears causing further embarrassment for his daughter or the Royal Family.

With the world's cameras trained on her, she seemed to enjoy the attention, waving sweetly and smiling at the bank of photographers.

Out of deep respect for Kylie, Travis, their daughter together and their families, I would like to set the record straight and say that my interactions with Kylie and her family have been limited in strictly a professional capacity only.

Whether Thomas will change his mind and attend the royal wedding is still unknown, and it has yet to be revealed who will walk Meghan down the aisle.

Ms. Markle's half brother, Thomas Markle, Jr., was arrested in Arizona in January.

The royal family are now paying for the ceremony and reception, with taxpayers picking up the tab for policing and security.

However, Mr Markle told TMZ that Meghan has said she does not have any ill feelings towards him for staging the photos.

He said that if doctors allow him to be discharged, he will fly to London.

In November 2016, Prince Harry warned the media against harassing Markle in a rare statement issued by Kensington Palace. "She said to me in her letter, 'While I don't think this is sexual harassment, I think this is how these attitudes get started, ' which was a very clever leap to make". Maybe they wouldn't give her the time off to go to the U.K.so she bailed?
