The Mayor's office, Lincoln City Council and Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education have decided a new inter-local agreement would be the best way to ensure long-term funding for the initiatives.

For some districts this year, the toughest question was not whether to remain within their caps - that was a given - but whether to remain well below those maximum tax limits as a signal to local residents that they understood the strain imposed by property taxes.

The district's average tax rate would be $13.94 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, up from $13.88 per $1,000 in the current 2017-18 school year.

Downey then discussed NEW construction proposals that totaled $34.5 million. The largest source of budget revenue is state financial aid, at more than $37 million.

"So what this budget really allows us to do is give us some space financially, while we're working with our community partners on three big initiatives for 2019-20 the following year".

In New Rochelle, the budget will need at least 60 percent of voters to approve the spending plan in order to pass.

We know it is asking a lot for people to come out three days in one week, but the board wants to have sufficient time individually with each candidate.

In an effort to encourage "innovative strategies", the bill would free Ball State from reporting Muncie schools' performance via the annual A-F grades measuring school and district improvement.

The three closures are expected to save between $2.5 to $3 million total in the overall budget, according to Clark.

"The School Board has not been consulted by the city about how this impacts our plans for our mix of schools", Gonzales wrote the Express in an email. "Why should one board member control and have the power to restrict the information to our whole board of elected officials?" The candidates include incumbents Amy Mayo and Brian Judycki and challenger John Stewart. The proposed tax levy is up by 0.22 percent.

Residents of Watervliet will be able to cast their votes throughout the day on Tuesday at Watervliet Elementary School and the Watervliet Elks Lodge.

The budget also calls for a 40 percent increase in the line item of curriculum and professional development to bring that figure from $89,000 to $123,000 - as well as the addition of a summer high school credit recovery/regents retake program.

The bus proposition is to buy two 66-passenger school buses at a cost not to exceed $229,241 less trade in value.
