Following her divorce to actor and musician Coyote Shivers in 2004, Perrette was granted restraining orders against him after stating he put her through physical, emotional, and sexual abuse during and after their marriage.

"I've been supporting ant-bullying programs forever", she continued. "And then I take a deep breath and I go, 'All right, ' you know?"

Perrette's final tweet on the topic alleges bullying and physical assault, saying she now understands why people don't report assault when it occurs at their school or place of work. It's horrifying. I left. Stay safe. Nothing is worth your safety. "But there are tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me". But at what cost? "I don't know. I just don't know". A very rich, very powerful publicity 'machine.' No morals, no obligation to truth, and I'm just left here, reading the lies, trying to protect my crew.

"I refused to go low, that's why I've never told publicly what happened", the 49-year-old began, defending her decision to leave the show. "Just...?" she said, adding that "false" stories are being spread about her. No doubts, no duty to real truth, also I'm only abandon, studying the slips, trying to secure my own crew. Trying to remain calm.

Although it looked as though the celebrity has been hinting she left the series after some on-set play, and her second tweets succeeded at anything far more nefarious and physically taxing. The actress stated in October 2017 that she had decided a year before that after sixteen years on the hit show it was time for her to leave and do something different.

While it's unclear what articles the longtime NCIS star was referring to, she continued tweeting early Monday morning, explaining that she had kept her "silence" in the hopes of protecting her crew and co-workers' jobs. "Tell someone", she concludes.

Following her exit from the series, Perrette shared that she was "so anxious about you guys for Tuesdays episode of the #GoodbyeAbby".

Perrette previously said she was leaving the show to pursue new career opportunities. Everyone is there. Love you!

Reps for the CBS show have not yet responded to the claims.
