Are you exhausted of waiting for former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi's return to Metroidvania form in the crowdfunded Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night? Curse of the Moon stars Zangetsu, who is on a journey to take down a powerful demon contained within a risky castle. One of the stretch goals for the Kickstarter was an 8-bit-style mini-game for consoles and handhelds - a game that was announced today.

While Konami is making a Castlevania for mobile, one of the company's former producers is resurrecting the spirit of the Dracula-killing franchise in a new 8-bit-style game. Zangetsu will meet fellow travelers along the way, who can join your journey as playable characters.

Igarashi is working with developer Inti Creates on Curse of the Moon, which is a spinoff of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which is a modern spiritual successor to the Symphony of the Night. These include the likes of the whip-wielding Miriam and the alchemist Alfred.

To go along with all of this is the fact that the game actually has multiple endings. Veteran difficulty increases enemy damage and causes knock back with each enemy attack, whereas Casual doesn't feature the knock back and gives players unlimited lives.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is set to release May 24th, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita, and PC via Steam. If you hate reading, here's a link to the game's official website.
