An inquiry by the Registrar (Vigilance) of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad, against Judge Ravinder Reddy, is underway based on a complaint filed by a litigant who wanted "a thorough inquiry to be conducted to know the corrupt practices" of the judge.

Addressing a public meeting here Wednesday night, Owaisi said he would meet Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E S L Narasimhan and place before him the facts of the case. "People call NIA a caged parrot, but I will say that it is blind and deaf also". Owaisi said in such terror cases, an advocate of at least 10 years' experience should be fielded by the government. However, only five of them - Devendra Gupta, Lokesh Sharma, Swami Aseemanand alias Naba Kumar Sarkar, Bharat Mohanlal Rateshwar alias Bharat Bhai and Rajendra Chowdhary - were arrested and faced trial.

Sources said that the judge sent in his resignation hours after reading out the operative part of the judgement in court on April 16.

The resignation of a Hyderabad judge who cleared all the accused in the Mecca Masjid blast of 2007 earlier this week has been rejected. During the Mecca Masjid trial, however, only officers of inspector rank were present.

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi had tweeted, "Judge who gave acquittal to all accused in Mecca Masjid Blast RESIGNS very intriguing and I am surprised with the Lordship decision". "It is proof that the NIA was acting at the behest of the BJP government". A massive blast had ripped through the over four centuries-old Mecca Masjid on May 8, 2007, during Friday prayers, killing nine people and wounding 58.
