Shashi Singh is now under custody on suspicion of luring the girl to Kuldeep Singh Sengar on the day of crime and also standing guard at the door while the MLA allegedly raped the girl. If the court is convinced with the report, then it might allow scrapping of the sections of POCSO Act charges against the accused MLA.

According to sources, Sengar has been changing his statements repeatedly during interrogation by CBI. He was later sent to seven-day CBI custody.

"The MLA was given a similar set of questions after a gap of one hour by interrogating officers".

Meanwhile, the CBI would be seeking the court's permission for conducting narco analysis and polygraph test on the rape accused BJP MLA.

"Later a custom broker, Himanshu Ajmera, came to meet the Customs official claiming to be a representative of Avista Multi Trade and allegedly offered him a bribe", he said. He will also be presented before the survivor for face-off on Monday or Tuesday. UP Police had registered FIR against three men from Makhi village - Shubham Singh, Brijesh Yadav and Awadh Narayan-who were alleged to have raped her between June 11 and June 20, 2017. The MLA along with the victim was taken to a hospital earlier in the day for a medical check-up and now the CBI is taking Kuldeep Singh Sengar to the court.

The uncle of the alleged victim had on Sunday night again alleged that the MLA's "goons" had asked the villagers to either remain quiet or leave the village.

Within hours of taking over the investigation, the CBI brought Sengar, who had remained untouched by the state police, to its office in Lucknow, where he was questioned for almost 16 hours before being taken into custody.

"Be that as it may, we do not intend to enter into this sphere (transfer of case to CBI) at this stage", the bench said, noting the submission of the victim's father.

On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested Sengar in connection with the alleged rape of 17-year-old-girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district.

The development came a few hours after the Uttar Pradesh government handed over the Unnao rape case to the CBI.
