Russian Federation has condemned US, UK and French strikes against targets in Syria over the alleged use of chemical weapons as the Western allies argued they were essential to deter the future use of illegal munitions.

The officials said the Kremlin was often utilizing what were known as man-in-the-middle attacks, in which hackers secretly inserted themselves into the exchange of data between a computer or server in order to eavesdrop, collect confidential information, misdirect payments or further compromise security.

"In fact, it takes a very peculiar kind of uniqueness to attack Syria's capital at a time when the country has received a change for peace at last", Zaharova said, according to Russia's TASS news agency.

Top military officials, including Defense Secretary James Mattis, warned Trump during an afternoon meeting Thursday that he risks escalating USA involvement in Syria if he goes forward with the type of aggressive bombing campaign he has pushed over the past week, according to United States and Western officials briefed on the conversation.

He said the attack was staged on April 7 to coincide with military action by Syrian government forces, after the rebel group Jaish al-Islam that long controlled Eastern Ghouta carried out shelling of Damascus from April 3 to 6.

In response, Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a Facebook post that "smart missiles should fly towards terrorists, not towards the lawful government".

"After his last call with President Putin on March 20, the president confirmed that the two had discussed a bilateral meeting at a number of potential venues, including the White House", Robert Palladino, a spokesman for the National Security Council, said in a statement Sunday night. "The U.S. - the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons - has no moral right to blame other countries".

A source at Downing street also tells about the imminent financial measures against the encirclement of Russian President Vladimir Putin - and against those people who have secret deposits in the UK.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday (April 16) denied allegations made by the United States envoy to the global chemical weapons watchdog that Russia may have tampered with the site of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria's Douma.

"Right-wing media outlets and Trump supporters like Mike Cernovich also promoted the "#SyriaHoax" conspiracy theory previous year on social media - a disinformation campaign that was traced directly to a pro-Assad Russian propaganda outlet.

"When we see malicious cyber activity, whether it be from the Kremlin or other malicious actors, we're going to push back", Joyce said.

Haley raised the prospect of still more sanctions on Russian Federation, saying on CBS's Face the Nation that a fresh round of penalties would "go directly to any sorts of companies that were dealing with equipment" related to Assad and his chemical weapons.

"We are continuing to assess intelligence and are engaged in conversations with our partners and allies", it said.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone with Putin and expressed concern about a worsening situation. Another official said Bolton did not advocate for any particular position beyond agreeing that the United States should retaliate for the attack if it was clear what chemicals had been used and who used them.

But this was balanced by a warning from France's ambassador to the U.N., Francois Delattre, who told the Security Council that the Syrian government's decision to use chemical weapons again meant they had "reached a point of no return". Invited into Syria by the Assad-regime, Russian Federation sees itself as a rightful protector of Syria's sovereign rights.

Trump repeatedly accused China of currency manipulation during his campaign for president and included Russian Federation in his claim in his tweet.
