He then launched into a set that took fans on a trip down memory lane, complete with throwback hits like "My Name Is" and "The Real Slim Shady".

No headliner can follow up Beyoncé's once-in-a-lifetime Coachella performance, but Eminem made a solid effort: The rapper's set included appearances from Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and more.

There was also a moment during his set with a pre-recorded re-enactment of the popular "Mean Tweets" segment from Jimmy Kimmel that crushed the momentum of the set, but in an otherwise flawless performance, it can be forgiven.

Eminem performs at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

Dressed in a signature white hoodie, the Detroit MC came on stage ready to showcase his incredible lyrical ability, starting off with classics from the 2002 album The Eminem Show including "Till I Collapse", "Square Dance", and "White America". Dre joined Eminem for "Still D.R.E.", his Snoop Dogg collab "Nothin' But a G Thang", 2Pac's "California Love", and "Forgot About Dre".

Meanwhile, Eminem touched on his past personal troubles as he dedicated the song Not Afraid to those battling addiction. It was midnight, the curfew for Sunday, and fans started rushing to the exits. "No one's been paying attention to you since 2003", read one. "Would you capture it or just let it slip?" he asks. He's not letting it get away without a fight.
