Director Danny Boyle's untitled comedy starring Lily James and Kate McKinnon will hit theaters in the USA on September 13, 2019, Universal announced Monday. The Irish writer-director said last month that he's also been working on script for the 25th James Bond movie with plans to shoot the comedy first, followed by the 007 film at the end of the year. Sheeran will apparently write new songs, while tracks from the legendary British group will also feature in the film.

Now, he's rumored to be in talks to appear in an upcoming comedy movie, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis. Sheeran already had cameos in The Bastard Executioner, Game of Thrones, and Bridget Jones' Baby, so this would be a continuation of his push into film and TV.

According to the Daily Mail, the working-title flick tells the story of a man who one day wakes up to find that he is the only person in the world to remember any of The Beatles' songs. He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet.

Ed Sheeran is set to play a leading role in Richard Curtis's new fictional film about the Beatles.

Lily James ("Cinderella", "Baby Driver") is attached to star, alongside Himesh Patel ("Eastenders").

Sheeran is a fan of the Beatles, and owns a guitar given to him by Sir Paul McCartney, after McCartney was impressed by his rendition of the Beatles' In My Life in a 2014 Grammys tribute to the band.

Filming for the movie is set to take place later on this summer.
