He posted some questions and asked Prime Minister to speak up. "Our daughters will definitely get justice", the Prime Minister added.

Announcing the march, Gandhi had tweeted in the evening, "Like millions of Indians my heart hurts tonight".

Later, on Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti requested J&K HC Chief Justice for the establishment of special fast-track court for Kathua Rape Case. "Rahul represents a younger generation and the incident has shaken the entire country". The BJP has already condemned the ministers' act, Lekhi said before going on to claim that the two were "misled and misguided" by some people.

"I wish he will now convert his words into deeds... You said, "our daughters will get justice".India wants to know: when?#SpeakUp". "Mere slogans and "jumlas" will neither prevent nor reduce Unnaos and Kathuas", he said.

The BJP also dismissed allegations of inaction on the part of the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

They had sparked overwhelming public outcry after attending a rally in Hiranagar area of Kathua district organised by the Hindu Ekta Munch in favour of the seven people accused in the rape and murder of the minor. Her body was found in a forest near her home. A special investigation team (SIT) formed to probe the incident has arrested eight people, including two special police officers and a head constable, who was charged with destroying evidence. In the Unnao case, a BJP lawmaker has been booked on various charges, including rape. On the other hand, in Unnao, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

The party workers raised slogans against the Narendra Modi government.

Congress senior leader Gulam Nabi Azad said, "The government is sleeping and so at this time Congress will have to wake them up. (It) does not take away the fact that they are trying to erode the legacy of Babasaheb Ambedkar", she said. "Any attempt to rewrite history, erase history will not work", he said. "They have no moral right to raise a finger against Congress", she said. "But she will not be denied justice", tweeted the former army chief, the first minister in the BJP-led central government to talk about justice for the child who suffered unspeakable cruelty in her last few days.

Social justice is not a lip service for the government but a commitment, "but the kind of incidents we have seen in the past challenge the very concept of social justice", said Modi.
