Apart from Sengar, CBI has also arrested one Shashi Singh, the 52-year-old woman who allegedly lured the victim to the BJP MLA's house on the day of the crime. As per a report in the Times of India, the police will now match the call records of the accused and the victim and try to ascertain their locations at the time of calls.

The medical test of the 17-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao who has accused local BJP legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar of rape, was conducted at a hospital in Lucknow on Saturday, an official said. He was charged under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abduction of woman), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

BJP General Secretary and its Kashmir pointsman Ram Madhav, who was here to attend the party's legislature meeting, ruled out any threat to the ruling alliance in the wake of the resignations by the two ministers - Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga, news gatherer IANS reported.

She also claimed that her family was being threatened after they tried to file an FIR. The father died on April 9 during treatment while in judicial custody.

The rape and murder of eight-year-old Bakerwal girl has created a large controversy in the state.

The accused in the Unnao rape case which shocked the country and once again brought people out on the streets has finally been arrested.

Singh is believed to have led the victim to Sengar's residence, where the alleged crime took place.

JAMMU: Lashing out at Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for failing, as in-charge home, in tracing the Kathua rape and murder victim, Choudhary Lal Singh has demanded her resignation.

Earlier on Tuesday, the brother of Sengar was arrested by the police.

While Singh had said, "The BJP government is for everyone and I assure you that case will be referred to the impartial agency".

Citing a recent high court order, Surjewala said: "In a damning rebuke to the BJP's claims, the Allahabad High Court has unravelled the real truth of the Unnao rape case".

He alleged that the Chief Minister was adamant on not transferring the case to the CBI on the directions of the separatists only for the vote bank.
