You can see how WWE explained the match change in their official announcement below.

"I'm obviously going to crush him".

Rusev admits Undertaker's one of the GOATs, and has home-field advantage for their CASKET MATCH. but says he ain't sweatin' it since "Rusev Day" is equally legendary.

WWE's announcement came just a few hours after TMZ Sports publishing a video interview with Lana and Rusev discussing the match and how The Bulgarian Brute would send The Dead Man to retirement.

Taker's wife Michelle McCool saw a TMZ headline on Twitter and responded. It was said that while Mysterio and WWE have been in talks recently about a full-time return to the company (outside of the confirmed Saudi Arabia appearance), it has not been confirmed yet if the two sides have agreed on terms.

The storyline suggests that Rusev's wife Lana pleaded with management to get her husband off this grisly match. The object of a Casket match is for a WWE Superstar to trap their opponent inside the casket and close the lid. It should also be noted that Rusev never actually vowed to "crush [Undertaker's] old ass".

Taker and Y2J have crossed paths many times before in their careers so it could stand to reason this match will be very good especially considering the combined number of years of veteran experience that will be in the ring at the Greatest Royal Rumble. But WWE has since replaced Rusev with six-time world champion Chris Jericho. Find out at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. AST.
