Almost all of the game's structures and trees can be broken down and converted into either wood, brick or metal that can then be used to construct walls, ramps, roofs and to traverse the landscape or to serve as a makeshift defence (or as a means of circumventing an opponent's defence). Otherwise, you're liable to get plugged along the way (as evidenced by our video above).

"We'll have a detailed postmortem of this week's issues, and more information about how we will improve services for you in the future", Epic adds. It has understandably seen a surge in players since Ninja started streaming it.

The login issues are likely due to the increased popularity of the game and many users attempting to log in at once.

Currently, Epic says there is no ETA for when the servers will be back up, but the Fortnite Twitter account has promised hourly updates. After being down for an hour yesterday to apply the update, the bugs and glitches fixed by the patch were then replaced by new bugs and glitches. We apologize for this inconvenience. It will hopefully be back up at some point today though, we'll keep checking for updates.

Epic Games is really, really sorry that you couldn't play as much Fortnite: Battle Royale as you wanted to this week.
