The Atlanta Dream selected former UCLA forward Monique Billings as the 15th pick in the second round of the WNBA draft Thursday afternoon.

Wilson is the first Gamecock to be picked number one in the WNBA Draft.

Wilson played for four years at SC.

Gulich averaged 17.5 points per game this past season to lead the Beavers, and added 9.2 rebounds per game and blocked 95 shots (2.8 per game).

"Two of her assistant coaches I've coached before", Thibault said, "they couldn't have recommended her higher with the character stuff, the learning stuff, how quickly she picks things up, her overall dedication". She flew to NY on Tuesday, along with UCLA teammate Jordin Canada and eight other college standouts, and will be on site for Thursday's WNBA draft.

Had the Sparks taken Gulich, she would have been reunited with friend and former Beavers teammate Sydney Wiese, who was drafted a year ago with the 11th overall pick.

The Chicago Sky drafted former Sparks High School star Gabby Williams with the No. 4 overall pick.

"In the conversations that I had with them and watching them over the last couple of summers, I think it's a place that I fit in very well, and I'm very excited to get started", Nurse said. The three-time SEC Player of the Year went on to sweep the national player of the year awards last week. From a reserve role as a freshman, averaging 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds a game, she became a player Coach Cori Close could trust the last three seasons. Her dad is vice president of player development and G League operations for the Knicks. Williams was a two-time state player of the year and had a stellar four-year career at CT. "That's who I am", Stocks said.

WNBA training camps open April 29 and the three-month regular season begins May 18. Her brother, Darnell, is a defenseman for the Edmonton Oilers after being the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
