Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte York-Goldenblatt alongside Cynthia on SATC, sent her well wishes about this life-changing decision and has consistently tweeted her support since word broke out that she's running. Plus, her star power will only give her a wider appeal.

In one of her first rallies as a NY gubernatorial candidate, former "Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon spoke up for "New York values" and mocked President Donald Trump as "that sad little miserable man".

Cynthia Nixon extolled her NY roots in a video announcing her candidacy for governor.

Cattrall later shared an Instagram post which read: "I don't need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker". He also blamed the federal government and the City Hall for failing to meet its greater obligation to fund and manage the crumbling subsidized housing and the New York City subway system, which is run by the state Metropolitan Transportation under Cuomo's appointees.

Cuomo has a massive campaign fund after two terms. Instead he relies on deep-pocketed supporters, many with various interests before the state. She has so far called him a bully and vindictive in a Glamour magazine article on Friday and an opportunist in her first days of campaigning.

Nevertheless, Nixon has a challenge ahead of her. Cuomo leads 66 percent to Nixon's 19 percent in a Siena College poll of Democrats released the day she announced her run. Her campaign's media appearances seem to be carefully curated, created to make the maximum impact with a target audience.

James noted that Nixon has experience on campaigns, has always been an advocate of public schools and is knowledgeable about education issues.

"We can't just elect more Democrats, we have to elect better, bluer Democrats", Nixon said during her launch party Wednesday. "But since taking office he has shown us his true colors". 'You have to be qualified and have experience. And it means responding to Christine Quinn's calling her an "unqualified lesbian" with a cheeky tweet - and then reprising it at a campaign party at the Stonewall Inn.

Will the "unqualified lesbian" defeat Cuomo? "It's true that I never received my certificate from the Department of Lesbian Affairs, though in my defense there's a lot of paperwork required".
