Lisa Bonet is speaking out about her time working with Bill Cosby as the comedian heads to a retrial over sexual misconduct allegations. But in an interview with Net-a-Porter's The EDIT, she opens up about how she really felt about him.

Bonet tells interviewer Sanjiv Bhattacharya that if she knew anything about specific incidents she would have already come forward. When asked if the allegations about Cosby, which include Andrea Constand's claim that he drugged and raped her in 2005, had soured the experience of being part of an iconic TV family, Bonet says, "No, it's exactly as I remember it".

"I don't need to say, 'I told you so, '" Bonet said of Cosby's trial.

Over the past few years, Cosby has been accused by nearly 50 women of sexual misconduct and rape. "And that type of sinister, shadow energy can not be concealed".

She added, "If I had anything more to reveal, then it would have happened a long time ago".

Between her time on The Cosby Show and its spin-off, A Different World, Lisa Bonet was once one of the most recognisable women in the world.

Bonet, the 50-year-old mother of three, is married to "Aquaman" actor Jason Momoa. That's my nature. The truth will set you free ... Cosby famously opposed her role in Angel Heart, in which she performed a nude sex scene with Mickey Rourke.

Phylicia Rashad, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Malcolm Jamal Warner have defended Cosby, but Bonet hasn't been very outspoken about the dozens of accusations - until now. I think she's just staying out of it. She was previously Wednesday to musician Lenny Kravitz. I think she's just staying out of it. "It's news to her as well".
