Disney offers preview of under-construction 'Star Wars' land

It follows last month's preview of the Star Wars-themed resort, which promised "complete immersion into an authentic Star Wars story".

Overall Star Wars will take over 14 acres and will cost around $1bn (£724m) to create, but we think it will be so worth it.

American actor/writer/director Jon Favreau. He directed Iron Man, the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Iron Man 2. Just recently, we learned that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss would be writing and producing a series of Star Wars films for Disney.

Star Wars fans are living their best life.

Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau has signed on to executive produce and write a live-action Star Wars series for Disney's new direct-to-consumer platform.

This is Favreau's latest project in Disney's expansive empire.

The new lands are scheduled to open at both Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park in 2019.

"It's unlike anything that exists today", Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts said past year, "From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story. I cant wait to embark upon this exciting adventure", Favreau said in a statement.

Lucky attendees of Disney's 2018 Annual Shareholders Meeting today were treated to a behind the scenes video of the next film in the Star Wars saga, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy says in a Thursday announcement that Favreau will oversee the new spinoff series. The Mouse likes to keep its secrets close to the vest.
