It's become standard for awards show acceptance speeches to be a race against the clock, as the award victor tries to rattle out his or her long list of thanks before the orchestra plays them off.

And that victor? Phantom Thread costume designer Mark Bridges, who won the Oscar for Best Costume Design, and took home the prize thanks to his 36-second acceptance speech and rode that bad boy out onto the stage with Mirren at the end of the show.

"That was an accident!"

In his opening monologue for the ceremony, Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel offered up the Jet Ski as a game-show-like prize to the Oscar victor who gave the shortest acceptance speech.

"Why waste precious time thanking your mom when you could be taking her for the ride of her life on a brand new jet ski?".

Aside from the jet ski, a trip to Lake Havasu in Arizona was also included.

Then, he revealed a spectacular lime green Kawasaki jet ski with a little help from the Price is Right model Helen Mirren.

Numerous winners, including Jordan Peele (winner of best original screenplay for "Get Out"), jokingly mentioned the Jet Ski as they began their speeches.
