A personal injury attorney and longtime Lakers season-ticket holder is pulling out all the stops in an effort to recruit three-time National Basketball Association champion LeBron James to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Another one takes a jab at Cleveland and Philadelphia, claiming "you can't compete with L.A".

With less than four months remaining until Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is expected to enter the free agent market, recruiting him to play for a certain team has become much more prominent, even if the team itself isn't making the effort.

One of the Los Angeles billboards set to go up will project James' retired No. 23 next to the numbers of Lakers legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

The plan was clearly thought out by the fan since the Cavs will be in Los Angeles for games against the Clippers on March 10 and the Lakers on March 12 (AEDT).

Last week some Philadelphia 76ers fans purchased three billboards near Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland and put up signs telling LeBron to come to part of "The Process".

The Lakers host the Cavaliers on Sunday, so we will at least the Lakers homer credit for good timing.
