Raw video shows a Virginia man who was attempting to outrun police getting hit by his own vehicle during the chase.

They say the man then got out of his auto to run away but he did not put the vehicle in park.

Fairfax County police say officers tried to pull Bonsu over on Sunday.

Dash-camera video captured Bonsu jumping out of the auto as it was moving and attempting to run in front of the vehicle, according to police. But as he neglected to stop the auto fully in his haste, he was immediately run over by his own vehicle.

Slowed down but undeterred, Bonsu kept running, the video shows. Video shows him running toward the auto, apparently trying to move quickly enough to avoid getting hit - but still getting struck by the vehicle.

The video shows the driver at one point attempting to get out of his vehicle and run from officers on foot.

Police say they pulled Bonsu over for an apparent equipment violation, the AP reported.

Bonsu is facing several charges in Fairfax County, including his third DWI offense, WJLA reported.
