Obviously, for the Spurs, the higher comfort level and diminished pain are positives, since it's an injury Leonard has dealt with since the preseason.

"Soon. I don't have a set date right now", Leonard said, per Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News. Without real information, speculation and rumor will fill in the space.

Leonard hasn't practiced since he appeared in his last game, but has played pick-up ball with "guys"(not his teammates) at the Spurs' practice facility.

"Sure, with taking the right steps", Leonard said. "But I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing".

San Antonio will need Leonard to get up to gear and progress quickly if they are to makes some waves in the postseason.

Leonard also went on to refute reports of a divide between him and the Spurs organization.

"Everything was done as a group. I feel better and, and I'm feeling more comfortable". I talked to [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich] every day. He knows what the progressions were, he knew what I was doing the whole entire time as well as the front office.

"Everything was done as a group", Leonard said. It's just some frustration at a slow process that has changed the Spurs season.

Despite reported tension between himself and the team earlier in the year, Kawhi Leonard reiterated Wednesday he wants to remain with the San Antonio Spurs. He's a top-five, franchise cornerstone player who already has won a Finals MVP.

But first, he just needs to get back on the court because the National Basketball Association is more entertaining with him. Playing is what gets you in shape for this game.

The Spurs are now in fifth place in the West, but only a half-game behind the No. 3 Portland Trail Blazers.

"It's been tough but these guys (have) been doing it all season", Leonard said. I'm thankful for the teammates that I do have.
