Former Arsenal youngster Sanchez Watt was sent off last night for dissent - after a freakish misunderstanding over his name with a referee.

FORMER ARSENAL YOUNGSTER Sanchez Watt has responded to being sent off after his name was mistaken for dissent by a referee, urging officials to "stop playing" with him.

Unfortunately for the forward, the official mistook him for asking "what?", and subsequently sent him off!

In a game against East Thurrock, Watt was shown a yellow card by referee Dean Hulme for kicking the ball away.

Watt is on loan at Hemel Hempstead from Isthmian League side Billericay Town.

Hulme asked two more times and received the same response, which he interpreted as dissent and pulled out a red card.

It was at that point that the club's captain Jordan Parkes quickly intervened to explain that Watt's name is indeed "Watt", thus leading to the red card being rescinded there and then.

And 9 minutes later, Hemel doubled their advantage when more good work from McCall saw his cross is missed by a defender, leaving Sanchez Watt to pick up the loose ball and tuck the ball into the net at the near post.

The ex-Gunner - by then en-route for an early bath - was then called back to the ref who quashed the red and reverted back to the initial yellow.
