Taylor Richardson, an ambitious 14-year-old girl who plans on becoming an astronaut, scientist, and engineer one day, chose to use the internet to give back by starting a GoFundMe page to help 1,000 African American girls see the movie A Wrinkle in Time. "She said, 'I want to work with you'". Never having read the book before receiving the script, she was inspired by Meg's potential. There's a hurricane rattling the roof, and its winds are shaking the walls around her. She has not even left Earth yet and she's frozen there, weak. "She has to find it herself". "She is anxious about her dad, and her dad's been missing for the past four years, and not knowing if her dad really did get lost in the universe or if her dad left her".

Oscar-nominated director Ava DuVernay says she used Oprah Winfrey's love for New Zealand to convince her to star in the film A Wrinkle in Time.

Time spares no words in explaining how the racially diverse and mostly female cast and crew of "Wrinkle" could sweetly cut Hollywood's bitter exclusivity. If wisdom comes with age, as the glorious beings Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. Meg as a teen is in many ways stuck in between: She's awkward and not attractive, though her mother suggests she will be; she's smart, but not deeply intuitive like Charles Wallace or Calvin; and she's impatient to understand everything now. Storm Reid loved Meg Murry, the main character of "A Wrinkle in Time", for years before she was cast to play her in Disney's adaptation of the award-winning children's book.

"She's such a peculiar character, and I wanted to know more about her".

"Black Panther", meanwhile, has posted very impressive holds on its way to making just over $500 million from domestic receipts alone. DuVernay told BET that was an element of "Black Girl Magic" to the movie. "We did look a lot at what are those themes today and what do they mean today, and how do you stay true to that and reinterpret them in a way where we can say this is our world, this is what we understand", Lee said.
