The budget price of the game might seem a bit alarming and raises questions over longevity, but until now everything we've seen of the game at E3 and Gamescom has been really very promising, if zombies and survival are your thing.

State of Decay 2's Standard Edition will be available for $29.99 and Ultimate Edition for $49.99.

The glory doesn't stop there. Building off the monumental success of the first game, State of Decay 2 is a true sequel that takes everything you loved about the first game and greatly expands on it. Among these extra perks is getting early access to the game.

For those of you curious about it, State of Decay 2 Ultimate Edition will net player early access to the game, State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition, and the Independence and Daybreak post-launch DLC packs. The standard edition includes the base game and will sell for £24.99, meanwhile the Ultimate Edition will cost £39.99.

According to developer Undead Labs, State of Decay 2 is a "true sequel" that took everything fans loved from the original, but is "more unsafe and unpredictable" co-op experience. They want to foster even deeper experiences with the franchise so it may grow to become an even bigger title. State of Decay 2 is a unique experience that a lot of players will be able to benefit from.

Microsoft has confirmed that State of Decay 2, the zombie-survival RPG from Undead Labs, will release on May 22 for the Xbox One family of consoles as well as Windows PC as a Play Anywhere title.

It's pretty obvious that this leans in quite well to one of the Xbox team's key metrics for success - the amount of time spent on Xbox One and Xbox Live playing games.
