The film has made more than Rs 18 crore ($2.8 million) on its opening day.

In the first phase of its release in the overseas market, Bajrangi Bhaijaan collected $29 million, thereby becoming the highest grossing Hindi film of all time in the overseas market at the time of its release. This isn't an easy task for Salman Khan movie to cross the whopping amount.

Talking about the first-weekend box-office numbers, Aamir's "Dangal" had managed to earn impressive Rs 78.10 crore. But, if recent reports are to go by, Khan is not only a money maker in India, but also nearly ANYWHERE his film begins screening!

After the success of Aamir Khan's Dangal andSecret Superstar, Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has impressed the China box office. China's moviegoers' rejuvenated interest in Indian films can be safely attributed to the concept-driven blockbusters of Aamir Khan which resonate well with the country's millennials. His Secret Superstar too did wonderfully well in China.

Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has opened with a bang at the Chinese ticket windows.

After over two years of its release in India, Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan hit the screens in China on March 2. While 2014 (Dhoom 3, Delhi Safari), 2015 (Happy New Year, PK) and 2016 (Baahubali: The Beginning, Fan) saw two Indian movies a year, there were no releases in 2012 and 2013 despite the modest box-office performance of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, which saw the light of day in the PRC in 2011.
