That definitely isn't the kitschy robot we remember in Netflix's first full-length trailer for Lost in Space, a reboot of the 1960s sci-fi cult classic. This new version of "Lost in Space" will star Mina Sundwall, Max Jenkins, Molly Parker, Parker Posey, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio, and Toby Stephens.

Similar to the original '60s sci-fi series, the show will follow the Robinson family as they find themselves, well, lost in space and encounter risky adventures.

Hopefully, Netflix is able to put together a fun and entertaining series here. It bears a resemblance to the "Stranger Things" demogorgon and knocks out the famous "Danger, Will Robinson" line in a spooky, mechanized voice.

We still don't know a lot of the details, but based on the trailer, the series looks awesome!

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Zack Estrin, who previously worked on Prison Break, compares the series to another popular family adventure.

Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. It follows the Robinson family, which is out to establish a new space colony but ends up crash-landing on an unknown planet. In 1998, Stephen Hopkins helmed the truly awful big-screen Lost In Space, which featured Matt LeBlanc, William Hurt, Gary Oldman and a CGI space monkey. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a unsafe alien environment.

Notably, Dr. Smith, originally a male character in the iconic series as well as its 1998 feature film adaptation, is now a woman, played by Parker Posey.
