Police Wednesday declined to detail the nature of the child endangerment charges against Glass. When police arrived, stepmother said she last saw the child at 3:00 p.m.in his bedroom before she took a shower and fell asleep. Police have searched three parks based on tips that have been received. But they did reveal that she is also suspected of abusing a one-year-old child.
"We hope we can find Lucas and he is alive", Seiler said.
Lucas was born December 12, 2012, has brown eyes and hair, is around 4 feet in height, and weighs about 60 pounds.
Anyone with information related to Lucas' disappearance is being asked to call the tip line at 316-383-4661. Rasmussen, who said she's worked with at-risk youth before, said she is familiar with the possible signs of abuse and reported the marks to Kansas Child Protective Services.
Rasmussen told ABC News today she is "thrilled" that Glass has been arrested.
She emphasized that she did not believe it was the father abusing his son but rather that the abuse was from Lucas' stepmother. She added that she believes Hernandez, who often travels out of state for work, was out of town working when Lucas disappeared.
Lucas was reported missing at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17.
Two relatives of the boy told the Wichita Eagle they had concerns about the boy's welfare in the past, and the child's great aunt said she contacted the Kansas Department of Children and Families last spring. The grandmother stated that family members contacted social services and reported abuse in the past in another state, but nothing had yet been done about it to her knowledge. "I think it's good to see people in this community treating Lucas like he's their child", Hernandez said. ABC News has reached out to other relatives of Lucas, but did not immediately receive a response.
