The LG K8 (2018) and LG K10 (2018), the latter coming in Plus and Alpha versions as well, will debut at MWC 2018 next week before rolling out to Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The announcement has been gathered a few days ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech show. The handsets are designed as the successors to the K8 (2017) and K10 (2017) that were launched at CES in January past year. While staying true to the nature of what the K series phones already offer, the LG K8 2018 and LG K10 2018 will come with notable improvements to help them stand out from the other devices that sit squarely in the same category, not the least of which will be updated specs and some newer software, but also what looks like some decent improvements to the camera both on the hardware front and within the feature set.

LG has confirmed that both the phones will carry over its glossy pebble identity. Three colour options for the smartphone are expected for the K8 including - Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, Terra Gold.

In terms of optics, the smartphone packs in an 8 MP main camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera assisted by an LED flash.

The LG K8 (2018) comes equipped with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. As for the K10 Alpha, the rear and front cameras have been bumped down to 8MP and 5MP respectively. There is also support for expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

LG K8 2018 comes with 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) On-Cell display with 294ppi pixel density.

The LG K10 (2018) is described to have the same 13 megapixel sensor as the LG G6. We know it won't be launching a new premium flagship phone so don't expect the LG G7. The front camera naturally supports bokeh features. PDAF and a faster autofocus promise you won't miss a moment. While the LG K10+ comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the LG K10 and LG K10α will be offering 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expandable up to 2TB via microSD. Connectivity options onboard include 3G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b, g, n), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0 Type B, NFC. There is also a fingerprint sensor that functions as a Quick Shutter and Quick Capture to let users easily capture their photos or screenshots directly using their fingers. The devices will be measuring 148.7 x 75.3 x 8.68 mm and weighs 162 grams.

"LG's 2018 K Series range of smartphones is focused on delivering even more value to consumers looking for the right device that fits their lifestyle and needs", said Ha Jeung-uk, senior vice president and business unit leader for LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, in the statement.
