Goa CM Manohar Parrikar has been discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital and has arrived in Goa in a special flight and is expected to table the budget today, new agency ANI reported. The session was supposed to continue until mid-March, but due to Parrikars illness, the committee chose to cut it short, Sawant told reporters.

"Manohar Parrikar is back in Goa".

The Goa CM had been in the hospital since February 15 for a pancreas-related ailment. "All prayers have been heard".

BJP MLA and Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo told the legislative assembly, which is having its budget session, that he would sit on a hunger strike if efforts are not made to resume mining at the earliest. Parrikar arrived at the state assembly complex and held a cabinet meeting. He is currently at home now.

Even though his condition was said to be stable, the chief minister couldn't attend the Budget Session 2018.

After landing in Goa, Parrikar went to his residence in Panaji. Parrikar was rushed to the Lilavati hospital on February 15, a day after he complained of stomach pain.

The journalist in question was detained by Goa Police after BJP leader Sunil Desai filed a complaint.

Messages circulating on social media on the above mentioned two dates, expressed fears about the worst for the Chief Minister's health.

"Parrikar has so much will power that he has recovered, and if he thinks that he should table the budget, he will come and do it", he said.
