BMW has whipped the covers off the limited-run M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years, created to celebrate - you guessed it - three decades since the first M3 Convertible's launch.

It's another BMW 30 Jahre model, joining the M3 30 Jahre launched back in 2016.

This model builds on the M Competition Package available for the BMW M4 Convertible. Colour choice is limited to a pair of heritage colours, Macau Blue evoking the E30 and Mandarin II reminiscent of the E36's Dakar Yellow.

The M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre comes with a choice of Macao Blue metallic - a nod to the first M3 Convertible - and Frozen Dark Grey Metallic (exclusive to the UK). Inside, the interior of the M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre features Merion full leather trim with a color scheme matching the chosen exterior finish. And that's before dealer markup.

The birthday auto is based on the M4 with M Competition Package that gets an M sport exhaust and adaptive M suspension along with a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces 331kW of power and 550Nm of torque - a sizeable upgrade from the original 2.3-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine which produced half as much power. The 20-inch wheels come in orbit grey matt.

Outside, the vehicles are dressed with black ascents and surrounds on the iconic BMW kidney grille, M side vents and badges. In addition, the "30 Jahre Edition" lettering is featuring on the door sills and the headrests for everyone to see. Macao Blue cars will get either a blue-on-black or silver-on-black theme, while Mandarin II yellow cars will only be available with yellow-accented black interiors. In addition to the badging, the passenger dash will also show which of the 300 cars you're driving.
