Charges are pending against 24-year-old John Peter Byrns, whom investigators found Sunday with the 11-year-old victim at a hotel near Macon, GA.

An 11-year-old Orange County girl was found Sunday afternoon at a Georgia hotel room with a 24-year-old IL man who had abducted her, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said.

"She was chatting with the individual through a game...within the game you can use a headset to chat with the people you're actually playing with". He says the Hoffman Estates man drove more than one thousand miles this weekend to get to the little girl.

The two had started communicating through PlayStation games, with Byrns posing as a teenage girl, according to investigators.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office issued a lookout for her stating "concern for Alice's well-being due to her young age". Sheriff Demings said he believes that Bryns is a child predator and hopes justice will prevail in this case.

The sheriff says the girl's parents reported her missing Sunday morning.

They found the girl at about 5 p.m. Sunday in a motel room at the Holiday Inn Express at 4970 Harrison Road and took her alleged abductor into custody.

Police said Byrns drove from IL, picked up Johnson down the street from her Florida house and attempted to bring her back to his home. Sheriff Jerry Demings said Johnson was persuaded to leave her home in Orlando and meet with Byrns.

"We don't want this situation to repeat itself", Demings said. "He may be charged with additional charges".
