Both Haasan and Rajinikanth, who command a huge fan following, have announced they will enter politics. However, before any theory was scrutinised, Haasan informed the reporters that meeting Rajini was a mere "courtesy call".

Abdul Kalam's house Actor Kamal Haasan will begin his political journey in earnest on February 21, with public meetings in Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Manamadurai and Madurai city.

"Kamal came to seek Karunanidhi's blessing before he launches his party on the 21st.I also welcome him and give him my best", said DMK Working President MK Stalin. Now, when I embark on my journey, I want to meet all those who are close to my heart. Both actors have announced their decision to take the plunge into politics in Tamil Nadu. Kamal described it as a "courtesy call" but not a political meeting.

Post Rajinikanth's official announcement of political entry, Haasan has expressed, "I hope Rajinikanth's colour is not saffron because if it is, an alliance is unlikely".

Kamal Haasan is on his way to make his political debut with a statewide mega-tour. "I pray to God that he attains success", the actor said. "I have invited him and he has given me his assurance", Stalin said.

"We will have an all party meeting regarding the Cauvery issue". "In politics also, his style will be different from my style", he said.

Rajinikanth's clarification has come after fervent questions by people on the two actors going together.

While Haasan recently wrote in a weekly that he and Rajinikanth needed to contemplate if it was necessary for them to join hands and face elections, the latter said only time will tell whether such a thing would happen.
