Chris Long was not happy when Fox News host Laura Inghram took a shot at LeBron James' intelligence on the air Thursday night after the National Basketball Association superstar criticized President Donald Trump in an interview with ESPN this week.

Ingraham tweeted Friday afternoon that she will be talking about James again tonight.

LeBron James' political commentary may not have sat well with a Fox News anchor, but that doesn't mean he's completely lacking support.

After James said Trump "really don't give a f-- about the people", Ingraham said James and Durant should "shut up and dribble" instead of discussing politics. "Unfortunately, a lot of kids - and some adults - take these ignorant comments seriously", Ingraham said. She also suggested that James should be a "cautionary lesson" for kids who try to leave high school early. Millions elected Trump to be their coach.

At an National Basketball Association news conference on Saturday, James reiterated his stance, telling reporters that he and fellow players "will definitely not shut up and dribble".

ThinkProgress founder Judd Legum noted that while Ingraham said James shouldn't comment on politics because no one voted for him, "no one voted for Laura Ingram either". "That was definitely an ignorant comment", he said. As he said in reference to Trump past year, "I'm not gonna let, while I have this platform - to let one individual, no matter the power, no matter the impact that he should have or she should have, ever use sport as a platform to divide us". The two NBA All-Stars were interviewed by ESPN's Cari Champion during the Uber ride as the NBA superstars spoke about the meaning of All-Star Weekend, maturity, racism, Donald Trump, and more.

"In 2003, I wrote a New York Times bestseller called "Shut Up & Sing, ' in which I criticized celebrities like the Dixie Chicks & Barbra Streisand who were trashing then-President George W. Bush".

"We talk about leadership and what's going on in our country it's all about leadership", said Durant.

Laura Ingraham issued a statement on Friday after receiving backlash for her personal and factually incorrect criticism of LeBron James.

"To me, it was racist", he said while shaking his head.

There is always a push back from athletes when they are told to "stick to sports".
