Bloomberg said the OS refresh is being called Android P and will enable developers to integrate Google's voice-activated technology inside their apps. This makes the app lighter when installed, consuming around 25MB on compatible devices - contrary to the 47MB space consumed by its regular version.

As much as I loathe Facebook Messenger, one of the app's best features is Chat Heads. Of course, the prime goal of the Gmail Go app is to provide Gmail access amidst using less RAM and data.

The ultra-light app works just like the original Gmail app but without putting much pressure on the RAM. Let's wait and watch for the Android Go to launch with more devices. Among many high-profile components and features is the device's operating system, namely the latest version of Android, the 8.0 release codenamed Oreo. It is designed specifically for the Android Go phone users and will be available for download from Google Play Store. So, Gmail Go is almost half in size than the regular Gmail app that we have been using for the past so many years. There are many sources available on the web from which you can easily download an APK file of Gmail Go application and can manually install it to a respective low end Android smartphone running on Android Go edition platform. Enjoy a smart inbox that keeps your messages safe and you organized. Gmail Go comes with 15GB of free storage, this takes away the headache of deleting emails to save space. Interestingly, via Gmail Go you can both read and respond both online & offline and also find messages quickly with a powerful search engine.

Looks-wise, it's similar to the earlier version of the regular Gmail app and has all the basic features like an inbox that prioritizes emails from contacts and separates social and promotional ones.

The Gmail Go app is basically a lighter version of the Gmail app, but supports nearly all the basic features of the main app, including multiple account support and letting you set up non-Gmail accounts such as Yahoo mail, Outlook.com or any other IMAP/POP accounts.
