Bush: There's 'Pretty Clear Evidence' Of Russian Meddling

"I think it's important we just continue to say to Russia, 'Look, you think we don't see what you're doing".

While never mentioning Trump by name, Bush, the USA president from 2001 to 2009, appeared to be pushing back at Trump's attempts to foster warmer relations with Russian Federation.

Last month, the White House announced a proposal to provide a path to citizenship for up to 1.8 million dreamers in exchange for $25 billion to fund a wall along the southwest border with Mexico and steps to curb legal immigration.

"Our system is broken, but we have got to fix it".

"There are people willing to do jobs Americans won't do".

"When there's a populist sentiment it makes it harder to get that kind of issue resolved".

Pivoting to the topic of immigration, Bush called for reform ― another possible critique of Trump. "He did not do what they are saying he did". "They've got to get it fixed".

But his strongest words were reserved for President Putin, who President Trump claims to have good relationship with.

Bush also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "is zero-sum". "He only thinks 'I win, you lose". which makes him hard to deal with. "Same dealing with Putin".

"I don't know that I would say we are better prepared, because the Russians will adapt, as well", Tillerson said.

As U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded that meddling by the Russians into the 2016 election did occur, it is unclear the level of influence it actually had on the results and whether the Trump campaign "colluded" in meddling efforts.

"Whether Russia affected the outcome is another question", Bush said. But they meddled and that's unsafe for a democracy.

At a summit in Abu Dhabi, Bush made comments that put him at odds with the current administration, though he never mentioned Trump directly.

"And listen to them".
