One of the four people hurt in a stabbing attack during a church service in Corpus Christi, Texas died.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, attacked his fellow members of a Corpus Christi church with a knife shortly after 7 p.m., according to WYFF 4. Corpus Christi police were called to the home and found the pastor who had been holding the service stabbed in the chest. Both were to the hospital with life threatening injuries, according to police.

The newspaper reports that the band member was stabbed in the neck. Two other churchgoers were also injured.

As many as 20 people were present when the stabbings took place. The attacker is now in police custody. Police did not identify the church, but KRIS-TV reported that the address of the home matched up with Kingdom Acts Ministries International. As of Thursday morning, he remained hospitalized with serious stab wounds, Hooper said.

Those attending services at the home had been gathering there each day as part of a "40-day pledge", Clement said, adding that witnesses said the suspect was a parishioner.
