It seems Robert Downey Jr will be joined by some stellar talent on Doctor Dolittle, including one of his Marvel co-stars. Antonia Banderas (Knight of Cups) will also take on a live-action role as a pirate named Rassouli, while Michael Sheen (Good Omens) is "in talks" to take on a live-action role - a character named Mudfly.

It's been announced that Emma Thompson, Ralph Fiennes and Spider-Man himself Tom Holland will be on set for The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle.

Not much is known about the newest iteration of the long-running character, but the film is being directed by Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana), and will be produced by Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Susan Downey. If you're not familiar with the charmed doctor, he's a veterinarian who has the ability to understand and speak to animals, created by children's book author Hugh Lofting in the 1920s.

Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro, Genius) is set to join the upcoming Universal Pictures film The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle with Michael Sheen (TRON: Legacy, Masters of Sex) in talks, according to Deadline.

This film isn't Gomez's first foray into the world of voice acting, as she also appears in the third installment of the super-popular Hotel Transylvania series, which will be released this coming July.

The character of Doctor Dolittle hasn't been seen on the big screen since the pair of hit Eddie Murphy movies almost 20 years ago. Universal is no doubt hoping to replicate their success with The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle when the film is released next year.

Still, we can't wait to see what the hell Tony Stark has to say to a bunch of animals! The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle will begin production this month and will open in theaters on April 12, 2019.
