An LAPD spokesperson tells ET that Robbery-Homicide detectives met with Eggert on Tuesday and are investigating allegations that she made, and confirmed that the allegations were against Baio.
Scott Baio is glad Nicole Eggert made a decision to tell her story to someone other than Megyn Kelly or Dr. Oz, because the LAPD will now get to the bottom of her accusations. Baio says he had sex with her one time, but only when she was 18.
Baio, who was 24 when he started on Charles In Charge, also starred in shows like Happy Days and more recently Arrested Development, has strongly denied the allegations.
Bloom said associates of Eggert witnessed Baio's "inappropriate behavior" when her client was underage.
Bloom told USA TODAY that detectives seemed "interested in the list of witness names we gave them", and she appealed for more possible witnesses to step forward.
"I'm trying to figure out which time she's lying and which time she's not lying, because the story seems to change quite a bit", Baio told GMA. "I was 15 years old standing on the bridge over the L.A. River at Ventura and Vineland in Studio City, and I looked down at that dry river bed and I'm sobbing, I'm sobbing".
In a tweet, Bloom added: "We will fully cooperate with the LAPD investigation".
"We are genuinely appalled that Nicole Eggert continues to treat the police and the district attorney as though they are part of her personal publicity campaign", Glicklich said in another statement. "If anyone else has information about this matter please contact us", Bloomd continued. She's now fielding requests on social media for anyone who may have witnessed the alleged incidents.
"If I could go back to a younger Nicole, I would tell her that she doesn't have to be ashamed", Eggert told interviewer Megyn Kelly. Eggert has previously claimed that Baio sexually abused her, starting when she was 14 years old.
