Secondly, we're finally getting some closure as to how Jessica survived her childhood vehicle crash and gained her superpowers, which was teased in the first season way back in 2015. That's 15 years ago in Peak TV time. Considering how Season 1 ended, this isn't too surprising, but we're keeping our fingers crossed regardless.

Jessica Jones season 2 is slated to hit Netflix on March 8. Krysten Ritter is back as the titular heroine, and it's already been revealed that David Tennant is returning as Kilgrave. But it's worth noting that Melissa Rosenberg, the executive producer and showrunner of Jessica Jones, hired female directors to helm all 13 episodes this season - a first for Marvel.

The streaming giant has recently released the trailer for the latest episodic instalment in the series, which sees star Krysten Ritter returning to the streets of New York City to combat the evil lurking within.

Are you excited for another season of Jessica Jones?

Netflix's Marvel TV shows started with a bang as both Daredevil and Jessica Jones built up strong fanbases, inspired countless think pieces, and found critical acclaim. And they even tease the potential rise of Hellcat and the return of Kilgrave, which we won't complain about. "Something happened behind these doors", she says in the trailer.

Heroism is unwantedly put upon her (a child asks if she knows Captain America) while others attempt to horn in on her business. The trailer makes it immediately clear that Jessica will spend season two struggling with the deaths of her family, and the development of her own superpowers. Watch the trailer below.
