In a press release issued today, Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. announced they would close seven different stores in IL in Chicago, Danville, DeKalb, Morton Grove, Peoria and Schaumburg.

The store closing and liquidation sales will begin right away and are expected to continue for approximately 10-12 weeks.

A department store in Watertown will be closing its doors for good.

While her company isn't able to comment or speculate on Bon-Ton's corporate operations or financial stability, Dorlan said, "we strongly believe that the premature store closure is not a reflection of the performance of the Village Mall store".

One store in Minnesota - Herberger's Clearance Center in Birch Run Station in Maplewood - will also close.

The Fox River Mall store location first opened as H.C.Prange's in 1986. City Council President Lisa Rasmussen said in an email that she hopes Wausau's job market will help provide opportunities to those who lose their jobs. Bon-Ton Spokeswoman Christine Hojnacki did not return phone calls or emails.

The company previously announced the closure of five stores, four of which were completed this month with the fifth taking place in February.

In December, he said he would like to have a large space that he could aggressively market to a company that would draw in many customers.

The stores set to close operated under various banners - Carson's, Younkers and Herberger's - and span states such as Idaho, New York and Ohio. The Bon-Ton released the full list today.

"This is where I always find what I'm looking for", Hughes said.
